The new Wagon R is powered by the 1.0L, 998cc, KB-series petrol engine with five speed manual transmission gearbox. This all aluminium, light weight KB series engine has cable type gearshift which is of great help at the time of gear shifting. This powerful engine can produce the maximum power of power of 67.1bhp at 6200rpm with the maximum torque of 90Nm at 3500rpm. If you drive the Vxi variant with CNG mode it produces 58.2bhp of peak power at 6,200rpm and churns a top torque of 77Nm at 3,500 rpm with the same KB series engine. Even if the powertrain output is lower than its petrol mode, the CNG mode still emerges as the winner in terms of mileage delivery and running cost per km. This high powerful engine of Maruti Wagon R is very fuel efficient and the manual gearbox ensures good performance and offers an impressive mileage of 14.2kmpl in the city and 18.9kmpl on the highway s while with Vxi CNG variant, you can get a mileage of 15.5 km/kg in city roads and 20.2 kg/km on highways . The fuel tank capacity of the car is 35 litres for petrol and 60 litres for CNG water. The factory fitted CNG kit in Wagon R Vxi comes with the i-GPI technology that uses separate injectors for each cylinder. Based on inputs from the ECU, metered CNG quantity is injected to the engine through gas ports. The quantity of CNG required for different driving conditions is controlled by the dedicated ECU, leading to more efficient fuel usage.
