Chevrolet Car Insurance

An American brand by birth, Chevrolet was founded by Louis Chevrolet and William C Durant on Novermber 3, 1911, and was later acquired by General Motors in 1918. Though it started in an experimental workshop in Detroit, it went on to become a company which would sell a car somewhere in the world, ever 6.5 seconds. Though Chevrolet is sold in over 140 countries aka 2/3rd of the world, Chevrolet's operations in India are rather recent. It was launched as a division of General Motors' India, which is a joint venture between General Motors and Hindustan Motors. General Motors India sold cars only Opel cars, like the Opel Corsa, Opel Astra, and the Opel Vectra until 2003, the year when Chevrolet officially began its business operations in India. However, it wasn't the year when Chevrolet cars were seen for the first time in India. First imported to India between 1918 and 1928, Chevrolet cars in India back then mainly consisted of small four-cylinder Tourers. They quickly became icons of glamour and style, and received patronage from all classes of the Indian society --- Maharajas, freedom fighters, and even the common man.

General Motors saw the opportunity, and became the first automobile company to set up an assembly plant in India in 1928. The Chevrolet cars and other GM cars enjoyed massive success in India, but in 1952-53, the socialist Indian government policy forced General Motors India to shut shop. However, Chevrolet cars returned to India in 2003 through the medium of Chevrolet Sales India Private Limited (CSIPL), and soon replaced GM India's only brand offering Opel. And it came back big. To facilitate the sales and other relevant operations pertaining to Chevrolet cars in India, CSIPL has two manufacturing facilities: one in Halol, Gujarat, and the other one in Talegaon Dabhade, Maharashtra. The company's two headquarters are located in Halol and Gurgaon, and it also operates a large technical center in Bangalore.

The Chevrolet cars currently available in India include the following Chevrolet cars and also their upgraded models: Chevrolet Optra, Chevrolet Tavera, Chevrolet Aveo, Chevrolet Aveo U-VA, Chevrolet Spark, Chevrolet Captiva, Chevrolet Cruze, and Chevrolet Beat. There is no denying that via Chevrolet, GM India bought top-class technology in rather suave packages to Indian roads. And there is enough proof to back this assertion. Its impressive sales figures speak volumes about how much success Chevrolet cars enjoy in India. They sold about 1.11 lakh Chevrolet cars in India in the year 2011, and are now aiming for a two digit market share in India's automobile sector.

Chevrolet has 6 car models available in India. The available models are Chevrolet Spark,Chevrolet Beat,Chevrolet Sail UVA,Chevrolet Tavera,New Chevrolet Cruze,Chevrolet Captiva,. The minimum priced model of Chevrolet is Chevrolet Spark priced at Rs 3,26,365 and the maximum priced model of Chevrolet is Chevrolet Captiva priced at Rs 24,59,000.
