Aston Martin Vantage

There is no other supercar in the market which says Power, Beauty and Soul when you press the ignition, like Aston Martin cars. With a fuel capacity of 80 litres, the mileage that Aston Martin Vantage features is moderately attractive. With Urban Fuel it runs 6.12kmpl , while with Extra Urban and Combined fuel, the figures are 11.56kmpl and 8.71kmpl, respectively.
The Aston Martin V8 Vantage S Roadster and the Aston Martin V8 Vantage S Coupe share a similar engine configuration. It has a maximum power of 430bhp at 7300rpm . The “S” variants also have a torque of 490Nm at 5000rpm. These models have a top speed of 306kmph. The Aston Martin V8 Vantage Coupe and Roadster models are powered by a 420bhp at 7300rpm engine which has a torque of 470Nm at 5000rpm. The car does 0-100kmph in just 4.9 seconds. The top speed of these models is 290kmph restricted. The V8 Vantage Roadster has a mid-mounted, sport shift with a 6-speed automated manual transmission available as an option. It has an alloy torque tube with a carbon fibre propeller shaft. It has a final drive ratio of 3.909:1 and also has a limited slip differential. The Aston Martin V8 Vantage Coupe and S Coupe have a two door - two seat body style whereas the Aston Martin V8 Vantage Roadster and Aston Martin V8 Vantage S Roadster have a two door-two seat soft cover convertible top body style. All the variants have an extruded bonded aluminium VH body structure . The body is made of aluminium, magnesium alloy composite and steel. There are extruded aluminium door side-impact beams. The Aston Martin V8 Vantage also gets halogen projector headlamps as the main beam. It also has high intensity discharge headlamps as dipped beams. The car has LED rear tail lamps. The only difference in the “S” variants of the Vantage are the carbon fibre front splitter and rear diffuser along with clear rear tail lamps.

Aston Martin Vantage Interior

The two models have a full grain leather interior with a gunmetal alloy fascia trim and graphite centre console finish and surround. The list of interior features include leather sports steering wheel, electronically adjustable sports seats with side airbags, dual stage driver, passenger airbags, powerfold exterior heated mirrors, heated rear screen, automatic climate control, organic electroluminescent displays, trip computer, rear parking sensors and tyre pressure monitoring systems. The car also gets alarm and immobiliser with remote control, central door locking and boot release. The Vantage has a glass ECU and LED reading lights . It also gets a lamp pen and pen holder. Aston Martin V8 Vantage “S” Roadster and Aston Martin V8 Vantage Coupe: These models get full grain leather interiors with weave alloy fascia trim with graphite centre console finish and iridium silver surround. These two S variants also get cruise control. There is a Bluetooth telephone preparation, embroidered Vantage S seat logo and embroidered Vantage S carpet logo. Only the S Coupe gets machined black ‘S’ theme tread plates. The other features are similar to the non ‘S’ variants of the Vantage series.

 

Aston Martin Vantage Engine and Performance

The Aston Martin V8 Vantage series have a common engine with some tweaks as per the models. The V8 Vantage has an all alloy quad overhead camshaft with 32 valve – 4735cc, V8 engine . This is a rear wheel drive engine. It also has a fully catalysed stainless steel exhaust system with active bypass valves. The compression ratio is 11.3:1.
The Aston Martin V8 Vantage utilises a 160 W Aston Martin audio system with six-CD auto-changer . It also has an integrated apple i-Pod connector. Also included is a USB connector with waveform audio format (WAF), windows media player (WMA) and MPEG(MP3) audio file compatibility. The system also has a 3.5mm auxiliary input socket. The wheels on the Aston Martin V8 Vantage Roadster and Coupe are 19-inch, 20-spoke cast alloy silver painted wheels. The front wheel is 8.5J x 19 inches while the rear wheel is 9.5J x 19 inches. The front tyres are Bridgestone Potenza 235/40 ZR19 while the rear tyres are Bridgestone Potenza 275/35 ZR19. The wheels on the Aston Martin V8 Vantage “S” variants are 19-inch, V-spoke cast alloy silver painted wheels with diamond turned finish. The front wheels are 8.5J x 19 inches while the rear wheels are 10.0J x 19 inches. The front tyres are Bridgestone Potenza RE050 254/40 R19 while the rear tyres are Bridgestone Potenza RE050 285/35 R19.

With anti-lock brakes, stability control, front-impact airbags, side impact airbags and pre-tensioners, the Aston Martin V8 Vantage has it all to ensure complete safety for its occupants. The ABS brakes can automatically sense if a tire stops rotating under extreme braking. In that case it will modulate the brake pressure to make the tire rotate. If the handling limits have been exceeded, the stability control system automatically figures it out and reduces engine power and/or applies select brakes to make sure that the driver does not lose control of the car.
As for the security system, the Aston Martin V8 Vantage is equipped with a unique device that can anticipate and/or detect unwanted vehicle intrusion. With an ignition disable device, this vehicles makes sure that the engine can be made to start using the original manufacturer key only. The Aston Martin V8 Vantage is steered by a rack and pinion, power assisted steering. It does 3.0 turns lock to lock. The steering column is tilt and reach adjustable. The front suspensions on the Aston Martin V8 Vantage are independent, double wishbone incorporating anti-dive geometry, coil springs, anti-roll bar and mono tube dampers. The rear suspension is an independent double wishbone with anti-squat and anti-lift geometry, coil springs, anti-roll bar and mono tube dampers. Aston Martin V8 Vantage Coupe and Roadster: The brakes at the front of the V8 Vantage are 355mm with four piston monobloc callipers and ventilated as well as grooved steel discs. The rear gets ventilated and grooved 330mm steel discs with four piston monobloc callipers. The car gets ABS with EBD in addition to emergency brake assist and traction control. The car also has dynamic stability control.

 

Aston Martin V8 Vantage S Coupe and Aston Martin V8 Vantage S Roadster: The brakes on these two models are a bit different. At the front end there are ventilated and grooved two-piece floating discs, 380mm in diameter with six piston monobloc callipers. At the rear there are ventilated and grooved steel discs, 330mm in diameter with four piston monobloc callipers. It has dynamic stability control with TRACK mode, ABS with EBD, emergency brake assist and hydraulic brake assist. It also has a positive torque control, hill start assist along with traction control.
