Porsche Specifications
With more than 100 years of successful history, the Porsche car was registered barely 60 years ago on June 8, 1948. It was the Porsche 356. And the man behind this legendary brand was Ferdinand Porsche. Thanks to the Porsche model 356, Ferry Porsche founded the company's global reputation as a producer of successful sports and racing cars in 1948. 52 units of the Porsche model 356 were manually built at Gmünd (Austria). Ferry Porsche also concluded a contract with Heinz Nordhoff, the General Manager of Volkswagen, according to which Volkswagen would supply the parts required for the Porsche sports car series. Furthermore, it set forth that the cars produced by the company would be sold via the VW sales network and be serviced by its service organization. The Porsche company undertook to advise the Volkswagen factory on activities relating to design engineering. When his father died in January 1951, Ferry Porsche had assumed sole responsibility of the company and, as General Manager, oversaw its transformation from a limited partnership to a public limited company in 1972. Later, as Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Ferry Porsche continued to determine the spirit of the Porsche company, on which he had a formative influence. This was characterized by its sporty tradition which, on the one hand, was mirrored by the deployment of already-built cars in sports competitions and, on the other hand, was instilled by the construction of future models.

Porsche cars reflect the company's strong values that have always ensured that nothing scores over their principles. Their ability to meet their own high demands combined with the fact that they have a definite idea of what their company is about, and how they approach things, has allowed them to stretch their boundaries in their commitment to continual development. Porsche cars are not only exotic by looks, but also by design and quality. And the fact that Porsche cars are successfully able to meet their own quality and safety standards, allows the company to combine high performance and outstanding practicality. Talking about Porsche cars in India, it is the German car maker Volkswagen AG that drives the sale of Porsche cars in India.
